The Versilia offers more than 20 km of fine sandy beaches with approximately 400 bathing establishments and, of course, a free beach. Viareggio has a tourist tradition that goes back to the nineteenth century, as testified by the numerous examples of Liberty architecture concentrated, above all, along the promenade. Forte dei Marmi boasts a tradition of intellectual center visited by international artists. The Viareggio carnival, with its allegorical carts and masked parade, is ancient and internationally renowned. |
