Valvassina is the only part of Lombardy where, in the space of a few kilometres, you can find yourself on a sunny beach on the banks of the Lario Lake or at over two thousands metres in craggy mountains, in places of historic-artistic importance or in corners of particular naturalistic interest. Barzio is one of the most beautiful town in the Valvassinia thanks to its setting. The town was originally one of the residences of the Manzoni family, from whence the author of the Promessi Sposi descended. There are excellent ski facilities and numerous slopes for donwhill and cross-country skiing. |
