Orosei is situated between the sea and the eastern slopes of Monte Tuttavista, surrounding the alluvial plain at the mouth of the Cedrino River. The area around Orosei is rich in attractions for visitors and nature-lovers. The beaches of Marina di Orosei and Osalla extend for more than 4 km and are fairly deserted even at the peak of the tourist season. Behind these beaches you find the Stagno del Cedrino, a lagoon hosting a variety of wildlife species. Cala Gonone is a famous seaside resort from which one can keep a boat and visit the grotto del Bue Marino. A little farther is the splendid beach of Cala Luna, perhaps one of the most beautiful in the Mediteranean sea. It is characterized by the presence of six enormous grottoes and the oleander wood, near a lagoon. |
