The perfumes and colours of an incomparable nature will accompany you on the journey towards Sarrabus, the region that lies in the south-east part of Sardinia. The most important town in the area is Muravera with its citrus groves and unforgettable views. Here lives the typical wild life of the great wetlands (flamingos, blackwinged stilts, coots, water hens, mallards) such as many can be admired. It is a vast area extending from the mouth of the river Flumendosa to the vast beaches of Feraxi and Costa Rei with their characteristic white sand. Going southwards you will find the picturesque seaside resort called Villasimius with its long beach. The gastronomic specialities of this zone are: the cheeses, sublime honey, the cakes such as parzidas, liqueurs made of myrtle and lemon, excellent wines like Cannonau and Vermentino. |
