Gela is situated at 82 km from Caltanissetta. The city, which hosted the great Greek poet Eschilo, preserves interesting medieval remains, precious neoclassical and baroque monuments such as the Chiesa Madre. Another area of great interest is the Greek acropolis of Capo Soprano. The modern Archaeological Museum of Gela is situated near these excavations. |
