Oristano's inland is a territory rich in handicrafts (ceramics, embroidery) and genuine gastronomy. The most famous wine produced in this area is the DOC Vernaccia. Visitors always appreciate the sweets made with a base of pastry made with almonds and covered in sugar (gueffus, melicheddas). The procedure for making them is often surprisingly complex. Also with almond base and round in shape, are the amaretti (macaroons). |
