The Gulf of Squillace was renowned for its pottery, a tradition still carried out by artisan workshops and thanks to an active school. Squillace has a beautiful old centre overlooked by the majestic remains of the Norman Castle. The coast in this area presents fashinating stretches, where sandy beaches alternate with cliffs sheer above the sea, caves, of uncommon beauty. The most famous dishes are made with mushrooms and caciocavallo cheese; Nzullo is a dessert made with almonds; the liqueur Serra San Bruno is made with wild strawberries. |
