This splendid hilly area is famous all over the world for its thermal waters. The spa towns of Abano Terme and Montegrotto Terme have been famous for centuries - since Roman times. It is a tourist destination that offers wonderful medieval constructions, archaeological sites, magnificent villas and picturesque villages. In Este there is one of the most important archeological museum of Italy: The National Atesino Museum. Este is surrounded by the Euganean Hills and still keeps the towers and the walls of the ancient castle which was erected in 1339. |
