The Piana di Sibari is a vast green plain facing the Ionian coast. Following the coast, there are many seasides resorts with lovely beaches such as Rocca Imperiale, Marina di Roseto, and Trebisacce. Before reaching Sibari, you find Cassano allo Ionio, a major town renowned for its spas. Sibari was a great city of Magna Grecia. The excavations conducted on the archaeological sites of Parco del Cavallo, have uncovered important remains, among which a theatre, baths, buildings, and temples. The new Sibarite Museum was inaugurated in 1996 and displays all the remains found in the town. |
