Pula is a large agricultural and tourist town on a plain that includes in its territory a large area of the Sulcitane mountains. The most important resort area is S. Margherita di Pula, a large tourist centre set in thick coastal pinewoods. To the south of the town a road leads to the important ruins of the Phoenician, later Punic-Roman, city of Nora. Along the smiling riviera there are the developments of Foxi 'e Sali, Is Moros, Calaverde, and Forte Village (the best known tourist village in south Sardinia). The whole year open Is Molas Golf Club is famous all over the world. The coasts, dominated by Capo Teulada, a headland more than 20 m high, are gorgeous and the sea is crystal-clear. |
