Padua is a city of great cultural and artistic interest. Here the visitor goes back in time thanks to the colourful public squares “delle Erbe”, “della Frutta”, ”dei Signori”, the romantic Bacchiglione river, the ancient University founded in 1222, the “Pedrocchi” cafè built in neoclassico style, the long and low porches of the old city and the frescos of Giotto in the Scrovegni Chapel (1305). Saint Anthony of Padova is still entombed in a magnificent Basilica built for him in the city center. Moreover, in Padua there is the oldest permanent Anatomic Theatre in the world and the oldest Botanic Garden in Europe.
