La Spezia is strictly connected with military navy from the last century. Its military importance grew up when the Naval Museum moved from Genoa in the 1870s. There is also an important archaeological collection in San Giorgio castle, panoramic view of the town. Before leaving La Spezia you should taste mesc-ciua which is a very old cereal soup. Its Riviera is full of charming localities such as Portovenere, and Palmaria isle with its blue grotto. |
