One of the most famous and interesting itinerary in Liguria is that of the Riviera dei Fiori. Between Genoa and the French border there are a series of beautiful bays, interspersed with incredible promontories, ideal for flower-growing, and towns full of ancient charm, with the alleys, pastel coloured houses, small squares, palm trees, and typical taverns where you can try fresh fish, the excellent olive oil and several DOC wines. Imperia is the most important town. The heart of the old city, with the ancient quarter of Porto Maurizio, is very evocative and the cathedral should not be missed. |
