The Maremma includes, practically, the greater part of the province of Grosseto. It is both a hilly and flat area where the water, the thick mediterranean vegetation and the animals are still the uncontested protagonists. In the north side we find the “Metallifere” hills with Montieri town, the medieval Massa Marittima, Gavorrano and Scarlino which is near the sea. Roccastrada, Paganico, and Campagnatico, situated in the west side of the beautiful Grosseto, are the heart of the Maremma. They all are ideal places for nature and horse riding lovers, and for those who love the popular Italian traditions and the genuine food. |
