The large National Park of Gran Sasso-Monti della Laga is the summit of the Apennines: with suddenly changing landscapes which alternate harsh rocks with breathtaking plateaux and stone-built villages. The most famous winter resorts are those of Prati di Tivo and San Giacomo. Trekking, mountain-biking, horse-riding and bird watching can be practiced in this area thanks to the varied and unpredictable nature. |
