This area distinguishes itself for its great cultural traditions, for the craftsmanship of extremely ancient origin and still very much alive today, and for the wonderful landscapes. There are notable natural beauties scattered all around, of great interest to tourists. Foligno is immersed in a true oasis of tranquillity and is surrounded by a suggestive landscape. On the slopes of Mount Subasio, one finds Spello, a picturesque agricultural town, which conserves the remains of a Roman amphitheatre, Roman walls and three gates, whereas from Belvedere it is possible to enjoy a splendid view. An excellent olive oil is produced in this zone. In the area of Trevi, the Clitumno springs are immersed in a oasis of peace and natural beauty, where the waters gush forth from the rock in many springs that form a small lake. |
