Land of trade routes, of castles and sanctuaries, this is a land rich in history but also a territory in active dialogue with the present. The small city of Crema, delimited by the river Serio, is situated in a central position equidistant from the major cities of Lombardy. The visit has to begin with the central Piazza Duomo, heart of the religious and civil life of the city. In this area there are several workshops where people produce bells and organs. The gastronomic specialties are the Grana Padano cheese, Provolone cheese (semi-hard cheese), salame (produced using pork, salt, garlic, and Barbera red wine), and torrone (nougat specialty). |
