Catanzaro is the capital city of Calabria. It stands in the middle of the narrowest part of Italy, perched on hills in a beautiful panoramic position. The small church of Sant' Omobono is the city's oldest monument, as but of the Norman castle have survived. Catanzaro Lido is a nice seaside resort with a fishing port. Proceeding from the coast to the inland you find the Serre mountain area in an environment that is still uncontaminated and features a succession of very different landscapes. Lamezia Terme is the nearest airport. |
