In these lands and valleys one can practice many sports: trekking, horse riding, rock climbing, and skiing. Alto Adige is still today a paradise to rediscover the joy of freedom, the sounds of silence and nature. Apples and speck (smoked ham) have pride of place, but, strange to say, the region also wishes to win an important place in the market of mozzarella made with milk from the mountains. Then, starting from the end of November, the Christmas markets begin in Brunico and other towns, a central Europe tradition which in the last few years has had success in Alto Adige. The markets offer the best in craft products and local gastronomic specialities. |
