Throughout history, Brindisi has always functioned as the Gate of the Orient, the point of embarkation, in every epoch, for the Greece of myth and the amazing riches of Asia. There are several small towns along the coast, which, in summer, come alive and turn into crowded, highly-developed seaside resorts, offering great hospitality and magnificent sandy beaches.
