Facing the sea, Alghero is one of Sardinia's most beautiful localities, because of its monuments and its natural setting. Moreover, it offers the visitor a series of services and facilities which are not easily found on the rest of the island. Alghero is also the most important centre for coral work in Sardinia. On the summit of the imposing headland called Capo Caccia, a stairway of 656 steps called the Escala Cabriol gives pedestrian access in a vertiginous descent to the Grottoes of Neptune, which can also be visited by boat, leaving from the port of Alghero. |
