The whole of Sicily carries the traces of the most ancient civilisations , sometimes well in view as the temples in Agrigento much-praised also by Goethe. In the hill of the temples stand the remains of 7 temples out of the original 10 or more which still remind us of this glorious centre of Greek civilisation in Sicily. An excursion to Chaos, near the town of Porto Empedocle, permits you to visit the house where Luigi Pirandello was born, near which, beneath a pine-tree, his ashes are buried. |
