Only 24 km from Potenza, in the Abriola Comune, there is the tourist resort of La Sellata-Pierfaone. Thanks to its stunning location with breathtaking views and its well-equipped skiing centres, it is the most important winter resort in the region. The skiing installations include two ski-lifts which are 1.500 metres long and which take you to the more difficult slopes. Higher up there is also a cross-country circuit. Another ski centre is found 88 km from Potenza and is called Sacro Monte di Viggiano. In the surroundings, Grumentum was a Roman colony and now is an important archaeological site. |
