Relais La Corte dei Papi is situated in the heart of the Esse valley, surrounded by gentle Tuscan hills. The Relais is an oasis of peace and quiet, ideal for those who would like to enjoy traditional local atmosphere. David Papi and his staff are pleased to offer you the greatest hospitality and comfort in this enchanting hotel, where you can sample local dishes and fine wines of the region. La Corte dei Papi is an ancient Manor-House dating back to the end of 1700. The stone and terracotta structure has been completely restored to maintain the style, history and culture of the area. All rooms and suites are each unique in decor with handmade antique furnishings and fine crafted linens. Our private parking and luxury garden with swimming pool are at guests’ complete disposal. Our Restaurant, located in the ancient villa's wine cellar, offers guests traditional Tuscan dishes featuring fresh meat, fish, and vegetables. Our chef and his staff personally prepare all dishes including bread, pasta and desserts. Our wine selection is hand-picked to accompany our seasonal menus. The ambience is as good as the food, with exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and traditional terracotta underfoot. To add to atmosphere, during the summer season, guests will be able to dine outside around our swimming pool, under elegant gazebos.

Cooking Class
	Daily cooking class: The cooking class will be done in the morning from h. 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. for 3 hours with our cooking chef Giuseppe and an English speaking translator. After the cooking class the "students" will be able to choise to have a lunch or dinner at our Restaurant, during which they can taste the four-course menu that they have prepared during the cooking class.

	DEGUSTATIONS The best wine cellars of Tuscany and Unbria , rich in history and charm, would be delighted to give guests the opportunity to taste their finest wines, aided by experts from the area who can guide them through the myriad of differing tastes and preferences. Guests at the Relais Corte Dei Papi can decide to dedicate their entire stay to the discovery of the differing wines and wine traditions of the area. For those interested, there is the chance to take part in a wine tasting tour of exclusive and restricted grape varieties. These esteemed wine producers will open their doors, and barrels, to wine connoisseurs, or those simply passionate about wine, to titillate and stimulate both their palette and sense of smell. For those who seek an out of the ordinary way to get to know this fascinating region, this tour is for you. Itineraries will be suggested ad hoc and will of course adhere to the requirements of the guest. Itineraries may include some lesser known, though still excellent quality wine producers, and will be presided over by a qualified sommelier.

How to arrive

Driving directions:
Coming from Pisa – Florence – Rome exit the A1 motorway at Valdichiana/Bettolle and follow the signs to Cortona - Perugia. Instead of going out at the Cortona exit, drive further straight and exit at Castiglione del Lago. From there follow the signs to Cortona. After passing Terontola and a small village called Riccio, turn right towards Ossaia and pass through it. Drive straight until you reach a stop then turn right towards Pergo. One kilometre after passing the white sign of Pergo, turn right into our Relais.
